About Dr. Patrina Makins

Dr. Patrina Makins is a native Washingtonian; she has three adult children and five grandchildren.
She is the author of Motivational Gifts: Pathway to Your Divine Purpose, and the Visionary Author of The Chronicles of Life After Book Anthology Volumes I & II. She is an International and National Motivational Speaker; a Business Strategist, a Life Purpose coach; an Entrepreneur, a Phenomenal Educator, and an Ordained Minister.
Dr. Makins is an alumnus of Regent University where she earned a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and a Master of Education. She holds an undergraduate degree from Stayer University in Computer Science, with minors in Business Administration and Human Resources Development.
Dr. Makins is the Founder of The Not My Kids Foundation, Inc. She has served this cohort (Generation Z) since 2004, with a mission to make a positive life-changing impact in the lives of young people through education, mentoring, and advocacy services.
Under the foundation’s umbrella is the P.K. (Patrina and Kellie) Girls Mentoring Program, recognized by the National Mentor Network, Inc. She is the co-host for the Push into Purpose Women’s Empowerment Conference and quarterly empowerment event sessions that create opportunities for women to network.
Dr. Makins is the founder of Dr. Patrina Makins Leadership Academy a Non-public Private Special Education School for young men in grades 6th through 10th.
She is a community activist and was nominated in 2013 – 2014, for the JM Lexus African America Achiever award and the PNC Bank's Non-Profit of the Year in the category of Rising Star. Dr. Makins was also nominated as the Community Citizen of the Year and given the Key to the City of Fort Lauderdale.
